Welcome to my Z500 Photo Gallery page.
This is a gallery of pictures of Kawasaki Z500s, and others gathered through the Classic Kawasaki Club and through this site as I have got them. Hopefully I will be able to build up this page even more with other Classic Kawasaki and Z500 pictures and information including about the z500 race series from 1979.

Through a letter published in the Classic Kawasaki Club magazine, Simon Hortop contacted me. He had just bought this Z500 as a project bike.
It apparently was one of the original race series bikes and he has now treated it to a respray and a full re-build.

Doug Holland bought his z500 in about 1990 for £150 and ran it until 1995 when it got put to the back of the shed and forgotten about. It was put back on the road last year and his Z is now running well. He says the next job is to replace the points with an electronic system and try to find some coils which will fit. Then the paint work could also do with a tidy.

An interesting project, a z500 monoshock conversion using Suzuki GSXR parts. Once the paintwork is finished I have been promised a new photo.

The site gets quite a lot of hits from Scandinavia and Patrik in Southern Sweden sent these (the second I have seen with original exhausts!!!) of his 1981 z500 which he has owned for just a couple of months.

Please send pictures of similar bikes as the z500 was such a rarity (there are only 10 owners world-wide in the Classic Kawasaki Club) so that I can build up this page with other bikes and information. I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was involved in the z500 challenge race series in the late '70s and early '80s.
